It was May 26 Mamad's last game !

Seven years ago to the day, Mamadou Sakho played his final competitive match for Paris Saint-Germain. A special match that will live in the memories......

A week after lifting the third French league crown in the club's history (after those claimed in 1986 and 1994), the capital club want to finish off the 2012-2013 season in style in Round 38 of Ligue 1.

And that May 26 was not short of events at the Moustoir, from both sides: there was a title to celebrate for Paris, a fine 8th place for Lorient, the final away trip for David Beckham, a first start for young Alphonse Areola, the final game in Rouge et Bleu for Kevin Gameiro, Sylvain Armand and Siaka Tiéné, while it was also a last outing for Lorient's Arnaud Le Lan and former Paris player Ludovic Giuly.

But the standout event of the game, above all is the last game for child of the club Mamadou Sakho. After 11 years in Rouge et Bleu, 200 competitive games (7 goals), and winning all the domestic titles (Coupe de la Ligue in 2008, Coupe de France in 2010, and Ligue 1 inn 2013), the number 3 - who perhaps doesn't know it yet - will a few months later head to England to join Liverpool.

From the touchline, Mamad’ sees the match decided in the second half.  Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who will be officially crowned Ligue 1 top scorer come the final whistle, scores his 30th Ligue 1 goal of the season (0-1, 51'), before setting up Gameiro, who celebrates his return to Lorient with a goal (0-2, 63') soon followed by another, superbly created by Javier Pastore (0-3, 65').

A few minutes before the French international's double, Areola had left his spot in goal to fourth 'keeper Ronan Le Crom, allowing the 38-year-old to play his one and only game for the capital club and to finish his career as a champion of France. But at the end of the game, Quercia is through one-on-one and Le Crom knocks him off balance. The double sanction follows: penalty and a red card!

Carlo Ancelotti doesn't have another goalkeeper on the bench, so Sakho puts on the shirt and Areola's gloves, replacing fellow youth product Clément Chantôme, coming on to the field all smiles. If he can't save Le Lan's penalty (1-3, 84e), the new goalkeeper shows himself to be imperious in the air (89') and even makes a fine save (90'+1) to finish off a dramatic match.

The youngest captain in Paris Saint-Germain history finishes his Rouge et Bleu adventure with an unforgettable 201st match. His last ever? That's not sure! A few months later, when waving goodbye to the Parc des Princes, he said: "The story is not over!"
