Luis Enrique: "Winning this game will be important"

The Paris Saint-Germain manager answered questions from PSG TV and the media ahead of the game against FC Metz on Matchday 17 of Ligue 1 at 21:00 CET tomorrow at the Parc des Princes.

ON METZ

"To win, we need to play against teams with different styles. It'll be a very tough game against a side that doesn't keep the ball much but enjoys playing on the counter. They won't leave much space in behind and will defend deep, so we'll see how to attack in behind depending on what space they leave open. Winning this game will be important for our confidence, to give our fans something to cheer about, to go into the holidays feeling good and to come back stronger in January."

ON THE TEAM'S SEASON SO FAR

"We're still at the start of our journey as a team of staff, but I'm more than satisfied with our season so far and with our results. Having such a difficult Champions League group has made us feel good. We're top of Ligue 1, and that's where we'd like to stay for the rest of the season. As for whether we'll be stronger in February, that was really what I thought in the hope that we would keep improving as the months went by, and I'm fully convinced of that. If I'm wrong, then I'll be heavily criticised, but I don't mind that; I've been criticised my whole life. That's my role. I can see that the team is improving and doing a lot of things very well. We've got one game left this year, and I'd like to give our fans a win."

ON THE UCL DRAW

"I'm happy because I really wanted to go back to Spain. Coming home is always nice. I really like that region of Spain because it's close to my home city, Gijón. We know all about Real Sociedad and their great manager, their great players, their fans and the city [of San Sebastián], which is one of the most beautiful in Spain. They finished top of their group, ahead of Inter Milan, who were finalists last year, so it'll be a very tricky tie."

ON LEE KANG-IN

"He might be a little-known player to anyone who doesn't follow La Liga, but he's really important. He's played on the right wing, on the left wing, in the middle, up top... He's technically capable and sacrifices himself for the team very naturally. He's funny and kind... He's got it all!"
