Luis Enrique: "Winning a trophy is always a source of joy"
The Paris Saint-Germain coach and Nuno Mendes, who made his 100th appearance for Paris, spoke to PSG TV about the Rouge et Bleu's victory in Doha on Sunday 5 January in the 2024 Trophée des Champions.

"A very, very positive feeling. Winning a trophy is always a source of joy. Starting 2025 in this way, in a stadium that's almost full, with lots of people cheering for Paris, with Parisian supporters in the stadium. Starting the year like this gives us a boost and confidence, so we have to take advantage of it and think about the future.
Today was a very difficult match, against an opponent with some very high quality players, a lot of attacking players. We had some very good moments in the match, moments of domination and moments of defensive suffering, but I think in the end the goal did justice to a team that never stops fighting, that never stops attacking, that never stops running, that never stops defending. I think that's a very positive thing and something we need to continue to build on."

"I'm very happy. Very happy to have played my hundredth match. I have to say thank you to all my team-mates and coaches who have been here at Paris Saint-Germain, I'm very happy. And with a trophy, it's even more beautiful.
It was a final. Finals are difficult. Monaco have a good team too, but we managed to get the win and that's the most important thing. Today, we leave here with an another trophy."
