Luis Enrique: ‘We're looking forward to seeing our fans again’

The Paris Saint-Germain coach answered questions from PSG TV and the media ahead of his side's Ligue 1 match day 8 clash with RC Strasbourg Alsace at the Parc des Princes on Saturday 19th October at 9pm. Here are some extracts.

Fatigue from the international break

‘There needs to be an overall view of things, taking into account the travel time, upcoming games... There are a lot of factors to take into account when deciding which players to field. The first match after the international break is never easy, and that will be the case again tomorrow.'

the match against Strasbourg

‘It won't be an easy game, and I've already warned my players. Strasbourg are the youngest team in Ligue 1, with some very good individuals. They're a dangerous team that scores goals and presses hard. I think it's going to be a hard-fought game. We're looking forward to seeing our fans again tomorrow and having a good game.'

Nuno Mendes

‘He's a full-back with exceptional physical and technical abilities. He's been playing at the highest level for several seasons now, but he's still a young player. He's very comfortable attacking, crossing... I hope to help him improve both defensively and offensively.'

The numerous youngsters in the squad

‘The growth of a player is not linear: there are ups and downs. All the players in this team have great qualities. At the moment, our young players are responding even more positively than I'd imagined, so that's a positive indicator. I have enough experience to try and manage this in the best possible way for the team.’

Presnel Kimpembe

‘I don't yet know how long his recovery process will take. What I can say is that I would be extremely happy if he could help us and bring his character and experience to the team. We're nearing the end of this process and I'm very happy about that.’
