Luis Enrique: 'We want to play with ambition'

On the eve of the UEFA Champions League last-16 second leg clash against Real Sociedad, this Tuesday 5 March in 21:00 CET at the Reala Arena, Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique spoke to the media.

match PREPARATIONS

"We're really looking forward to the second leg. We're going to have training just after this press conference, as it's the day before the match, in the stadium where we'll be playing tomorrow night, so I'm looking forward to it. What I'm hoping for from the team is that they'll be up to the task. I see the whole squad is feeling confident, with a clear objective which is to win tomorrow's game, even though we know it's going to be very difficult."

STRUGGLING AWAY FROM HOME

"Away games are always difficult, even when you have a good result in the first leg. We'll have to come out on the pitch with the right attitude and a maximum of focus. We're on a good run of form. All teams have strengths and weaknesses, and that's normal. We're trying to improve certain areas, and that's part of the team's journey. I think we still have room for improvement."

THE STARTING XI

"I will name my starting XI based on what I saw in the Monaco match, and what I've seen all week in training and what I'm going to see tonight in the last training session. I don't look at the age or experience of the players because I don't think that means anything."

Nuno mendes

"With Nuno, we're continuing his rehabilitation process. He could start tomorrow, even if he can't play the whole match. It's good news for the team because he's a full-back who attacks and defends very well. I'm happy for him because I know how difficult it is for a player to be injured for such a long period."

PLAYING PHILOSOPHY

"We'll have to play this match like a final because one team will be eliminated from the competition at the final whistle. When you play away from home, we know that one goal can change the atmosphere of the match. Tomorrow will undoubtedly be very tough, but we're prepared for any scenario. We want to overcome this challenge by being very good in both defence and attack. We want to play with ambition, as I'll always say."
