Luis Enrique: "We have to be ambitious and enjoy it"

"We have the Coupe de France final against Reims before the UEFA Champions League final. I think we have to handle the pressure around us and try to enjoy it. We feel the enthusiasm and we try to manage it. We are a team that has been able to handle the highs and lows and the pressure."

THE Champions League final

"I'm focusing on the two games with the Coupe de France final against Reims first. We got here thanks to the football we play. The Champions League final is a different game. It happens only rarely for a player or coach to have a game like that. We're going to try and play our best football, and write club history by winning a first Champions League. But Inter Milan are a complete team with high-quality players and a very good coach.

"We know Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez, who are able to play together, and they have different options starting from the defence and Yann Sommer. They're a team that ressembles us a lot. They can defend and attack high up the pitch. They're a tough opponent, who has knocked out Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona. But we are also a very good team and I think it's going to be one of the best UEFA Champions League finals ever. We'll be up to the occasion, Inter too, and now we have to just enjoy this final.

"The secret is - instead of coming here to work - to come here to enjoy it. The goal has been achieved, because it has been a dream since the start of the season, but we have done it. We have to be ambitious, face up to these ten days with two finals, and enjoy it."

THE TEAM'S PROGRESS IN EUROPE

"I was delighted by what I saw. We have improved. In the Champions League, we played some real top-quality games. We had some problems being clinical, but we analysed that, and said that would improve with more confidence. We generated that through the work and the effort of the players. My players were able to position themselves better in the penalty area. The change came in January, even if they played the same way as they had since the start of the season, they were more clinical. Thanks to the fans who have always had faith in us and supported us."

ATTACK AND DEFEND TOGETHER

"I must say that if we analyse it in-depth, it's the way our players defend, regardless of who our forwards are, that everyone defends and wins back the ball. It's a concept, and it's the most difficult one to put in place and do well. All our forwards have that mentality of defending as a team. We have been better at it this season and my players are happy.

"The stats show that we're a better team this season. There are 18 different players who have scored this season, and we have also scored more goals than last season. As a coach, I'm very happy with that."
