Luis Enrique: 'We fulfilled our fans' expectations!'
Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique and midfielder Vitinha spoke to PSG TV after their brilliant 3-0 Classique win over Marseille at the Stade Vélodrome on Sunday on Matchday 9 of Ligue 1.
LUIS ENRIQUE
"I'm very satisfied. I think we fulfilled the expectations of our supporters, which was to see a courageous team go for the win from the first minute by pressing high, taking risks and wanting to win the match from the outset.
"We gave our supporters, present at the Parc des Princes in Paris, what they wanted: playing away from home with such determination right up to the last minute. I think this type of match is very special for our supporters and for us too. Marseille are a rival in the standings and tonight we showed we are ahead of them, this time with 3 points, so I think it's a very good weekend for us."
VITINHA
"It's true that the red card changed the game a bit, but the truth is, even before that, we were playing very well. We started the game well, we scored and then with the red card, our dominance was even clearer. Our aim was to press very hard throughout the match, especially in this type of match against a big rival. It gave us a lot of control of the game.
"The support from the fans? It's good for us to have this bond, to have them at training was great. We know that this type of match is special, it’s special for them and for us too. So of course this victory is for them."
