Luis Enrique: 'The idea is to empower all of my players'

The Paris Saint-Germain coach and one of the evening's scorers spoke to PSG TV, after Matchday 9 of Ligue 1 against RC Strasbourg Alsace (3-0).

LUIS ENRIQUE

"We are pleased, yes. It was a challenging match, coming after the international break. A match without our supporters and ultras, which was a bit strange. But I believe the players and the team performed very well. They took the match very seriously and we achieved this excellent result. We didn't concede any goals, gained three more points and it's the perfect preparation for the Champions League match.

The idea, as a coach, is to empower all my players. It's clear that some players have played more. But if we want to have a chance in all competitions, as I've said before, we need the entire team. I'm very lucky because all the players in the team are of a high level. Today, there were five or six changes with less regular starters, but they delivered top-level performances and will put pressure on those in the starting eleven to earn game time."

FABIAN RUIZ

"It was important to win today. After the international break, I think we played an excellent match from start to finish. That’s the dynamic, we need to continue working for the next match and it was important to win here at home.

My performance? I think I felt very good, I am happy with my goal, but especially with the win. It’s always nice to score, and even more so on home turf. And I need to take advantage when I get game time, I try to do my best. For now, I will keep on working."
