Luis Enrique: "Lens is a team that plays with a lot of intensity"

The Paris Saint-Germain coach answered questions from PSG TV and the media ahead of his side's Ligue 1 Matchday 3 clash with RC Lens at the Parc des Princes on Saturday 26 August at 21:00. Here are some extracts.

the match in Toulouse

"My analysis after the game against Toulouse was incorrect because I hadn't yet had time to review the match. In these situations, we're often conditioned by the result of the match, so I'll go back on what I said. In the end, I think we controlled the whole match. You have to find a balance with the players who come into the game and I think that's one of the most interesting tasks ahead of me."

the transfer market

“Luis Campos and I work together every day. I'm delighted because he's one of the best in his field. It allows me to continue to develop in my role as coach. We talk every day about the squad. As far as the midfield is concerned, I think we have some excellent players and I'm happy with the options I have. We have a young squad but I see creativity and flair in my group, both in attack and defence."

The match against lens

"Lens didn't start the season very well either, but they're still one of the best teams in the league. I really like the Lens players and the coach. I see this match as a UEFA Champions League game. They're a team that plays with a lot of intensity, both offensively and defensively. I hope we can celebrate a first victory with our supporters, but it will be very difficult.

We'll be playing against a very strong and powerful team. One of the keys to the match will be intensity. We'll have to find solutions quickly with the ball because they're a team that presses a lot. They've got a very good goalkeeper, some very good combinations in their game and also a lot of ability to go in behind with their new striker. I really like Franck Haise's work."

captaincy

"As far as the players' vote is concerned, it has been made public. The group decided to elect Marquinhos. He's a leader on and off the pitch, it's in his character. You want a captain to represent his team, and I think Marquinhos does that very well. It's the players' decision, not mine."
