Luis Enrique: 'It's time to thank all the supporters’
Paris Saint-Germain coach Gigio Donnarumma and Marquinhos spoke to PSG TV after the Rouge et Bleu beat Angers SCO 1-0 on Saturday evening at the Parc des Princes to clinch their 13th Ligue 1 title.
Luis Enrique
‘I'm happy, satisfied, very pleased. I think it's time to thank all the supporters, all the players, the staff, everyone at the club. I think this season has been sensational. We're already champions and I think we've thoroughly deserved this trophy. I think we have records to break, and it's important to have and maintain this motivation to be competitive in the Champions League and also in the Coupe de France.’
Gianluigi Donnarumma
‘Congratulations to the whole team and all the staff. We've worked very hard but we still have goals to achieve. We have to keep working, Wednesday is our first objective, and we have to keep giving it our all to win every match until the end of the season. The Ligue 1 title can give us the strength to continue, to work, to move forward and do other things. That's important. We still have a lot of goals, so we have to keep going and win everything we can.'
Marquinhos
‘It's an incredible feeling. It makes me really happy. It's my 10th title, it's a record for me and it's really great because it shows the work we've put in all year, the consistency, we know there are people who will say that winning in April isn't as exciting but I think we know all the work we've put in during the season, all the effort. It highligts our hard work, I think we've played some incredible matches during this Ligue 1 season and we really deserve this title. It's a real pleasure and something to celebrate, because I've been through two seasons where we didn't win the title, and we know that feeling of not winning the Ligue 1 title. It's also a new trophy, so it's great to win it.
I saw the supporters' banner and I heard them too. It's a real pleasure, and all the supporters I met after the match during the lap of honour said nice things to me. It's a real pleasure because this is my home, it's their home too, and we've been getting on really well for years. It's great to have the support of our fans, and I think I'm someone who always tries to make them feel valued on the pitch. Wearing the shirt for them is the most important thing and I try to do that at every match. Every day I come here, whether it's at the Parc des Princes, in training or at away games, I try to show them the value of the shirt and I think that's what they like.'
