Lucas Beraldo signs for Paris Saint-Germain until 2028

Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to welcome Lucas Beraldo to the club. The 20-year-old Brazilian defender, who will wear the number 35, has signed a five-year deal.

After representing São Paulo–based sides União Barbarense and XV de Piracicaba, Beraldo joined São Paulo FC in 2020 and quickly established himself as a key member of the club’s U17 team.

There, the Piracicaba native rose through the ranks and eventually made his professional debut in a 1-0 win over Peruvian outfit Ayacucho FC in the Copa Sudamericana on 26th May 2022. A few weeks later, on 11th June 2022, the then 18-year-old celebrated his first cap for Brazil’s U20s with a 4-1 victory over Ecuador.

Thanks to his technical poise and his above-average passing ability, the left-footer truly broke new ground in 2023. Having been thrust into a regular spot in the São Paulo FC first team’s starting XIs, Beraldo became a key player in the Brazilian top flight, racking up 52 appearances and one goal in Série A at the age of just 20. In September 2023, he also picked up the first trophy of his burgeoning career in the form of São Paulo’s first-ever Copa do Brasil title, beating Flamengo in the final.

“I’m really happy to be joining a club as ambitious as Paris Saint-Germain. This is an important step in my career and one that will help me to move forward. I can’t wait to get to know my new teammates and to take my first steps in this shirt,” Beraldo announced.
