Lionel Messi receives his UNFP award
The Paris Saint-Germain, who was voted as Ligue 1’s Player of the Month for September, received his UNFP award ahead of the capital club’s 4-3 win over ESTAC Troyes at the Parc des Princes today, on Matchday 13 of the league season.
With 57% of the votes from TROPHEESUNFP.COM visitors, Lionel Messi finished ahead of FC Lorient's Dango Ouattara (31%) and LOSC's Jonathan David (12%) to succeed his teammate Neymar Jr, who won the award in August.
With the Argentina international winning the honour for the first time in his career, he wasted no time in celebrating it, as Les Rouge et Bleu's no. 30 bagged a goal and an assist against Troyes.
