Lille - Paris: The five goals that have marked the match in the North

Before Les Parisiens travel on Sunday to face Les Dogues on Matchday 16 of Ligue 1, a look back at some of the goals that have marked this historic encounter..

Maxwell's bullet strike

It was in the cold of February 2015, that Paris travelled to Villeneuve-d'Ascq to play in the semi-final of the Coupe de la Ligue. An encounter that was marked by an unforgettable goal from the emblematic Maxwell after an excellent team move.

In the role of playmaker, an off-balance Edinson Cavani, was found beautifully by Lucas, and the Uruguayan crossed to the edge of the box. Maxwell arrived like a missile and let rip with an incredible strike under Vincent Enyeama's bar (0-1).

As if seconds lasted an eternity... Bam! A violent strike from the left-back which proved to be the only goal of the game and secured his side's ticket to the Stade de France for a final that the club from the capital went on to win two months later.

Z's footprint

The fastest goal of the season, the winning goal and a brace to get the season underway. On 2 September 2012 and in his very first big match in Ligue 1, Zlatan Ibrahimovic didn't do things by half. But the Swedish giant also thought about those watching at home before the channel was cut off, when he found the back of the net in just the 27th second of the match.

It was from a high-voltage move that Les Parisiens opened the scoring in the match. A move that began in the Paris half and in which 11 players were involved! Jérémy Ménez picked up the ball to start a triangle with Maxwell and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. A formality in the end for the Swede, who finished with his usual nonchalance, with a deft side-footed effort (0-1).

Thanks to his second goal of the match, the club from the capital would go on to win (1-2) and pick up their first win of the season. His second brace after four matches, just a taster for what was to come in a crazy Ligue 1 season, in which the striker would finish with 30 goals on the board.

Joga Bonito from Neymar

The man who was involved in a thundering end to the year, Neymar Jr was looking to heat up the atmosphere for Les Parisiens as they travelled to the North on 20 January 2020. Involved in 12 goals in his previous six Ligue 1 matches, the Brazilian didn't falter and scored another brace in what was an incredible match. But how can you not pick out his masterpiece from the 28th minute?

The Brazilian arrived on scene with some marvellous control of the ball and a bit of trickery, before using Marco Verratti to find an angle to shoot. Ney struck at goal and found the back of the net as if it is was a video game. A work of art.

The n°10 scored his second from the penalty spot, before paying tribute to Kobe Bryant with his goal celebration. In doing so, Neymar and co. condemned Lille to their first home defeat of the season.

The historic Gravelaine

For the nostalgic among us, you have to roll back the years to 1993 to remember Gravelaine's goal. It was on a December evening in the cold of the Stade Grimonprez-Jooris, the former municipal stadium in Lille, that the Frenchman ensured the victory for his side. After coming on in the 87th minute to replace David Ginola, Gravelaine didn't waste a second to find the back of the net in the 91st minute.

Found of the left wing, Xavier Gravelaine broke into the box to beat Oumar Dieng with some devastating skill, before curling into the back of the net (0-2). The final chapter to an excellent performance. And a little gem to remain in the memories of all watching.

Lo Celso's lob

4 February 2018. Paris Saint-Germain didn't hold back against LOSC, taking home a 3-0 victory. A win, with two masterpieces… And it's difficult to only pick one goal from the match. After Berchiche's opener, we could have picked Neymar's marvellous free-kick in the 17th minute. A sumptuous strike, perfectly catapulted into the back of Maignan's net. The Brazilian's 18th goal of the season…

But Lo Celso wasn't to be outdone, and he too, found the back of the net in style with a gem of a goal at the Stade Pierre Mauroy. The Argentine found a space between the lines and impressed all of those looking on with a beautiful lob leaving Mike Maignan with no chance. A difficult evening for the LOSC goalkeeper, as he started against his boyhood club for the first time in his career. "Lob Celso" ensured that his very first goal in Ligue 1 was capped off in style (0-3).
