Ligue 1 is back!

This Saturday, Les Parisiens return to action in Ligue 1 with the opening weekend of the 2021-22 campaign. Let's take a closer look at what promises to be another thrilling season of French football!

Les Rouge et Bleu start away to promoted Troyes, this Saturday at 21:00 after a summer that saw its players star in the two major international tournaments, some important new faces arrive in the French capital and the squad work hard in an excellent preseason.

Moving on from the disappointment of losing the Trophée des Champions against Lille last Sunday, Mauricio Pochettino’s men are now fully focused on the league championship and lifting a record-equalling tenth French Ligue 1 title.

The excitement is palpable on the eve of our return to the Parc des Princes, where Paris will play only one of four league matches in August. After the trip to Troyes, Strasbourg visit the capital in Matchday 2 on 14 August, before Les Rouge et Bleu, are back on the road to Brest and Reims.

Paris then have back-to-back home matches in September, with promoted Clermont followed by the eagerly anticipated clash with Lyon.

Since Monday, Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching staff have been working hard to get the side in peak form for the showdown with the defending second division champions. Paris fans will be looking forward to the Ligue 1 debuts of its new signings over the coming weeks, perhaps as early as this Saturday.
