Les Parisiens continue their run at Nantes!

Paris Saint-Germain secured a victory against FC Nantes on Saturday evening at La Beaujoire on Matchday 9 of Ligue 1 (0-3). A look back on the encounter.

Three days after their victory in Istanbul over Basaksehir (2-0), Paris Saint-Germain were back in domestic action against Nantes in Brittany. Thomas Tuchel, who was without numerous members of his squad, opted for a 4-3-3 with no less than six changes to the side that started in Turkey.

The start of the match set the scene for what was to come, Les Parisiens looked to get the ball down and play, while showing patience in order to find a way past the Nantes defence. On the other hand, Christian Gourcuff's side made the most of a strong period after a quarter of an hour to create an excellent opportunity for Moses Simon, who found himself through on goal (14'). And even though the Mbappé - Kean - Sarabia trio upped the ante to try to find the breakthrough before the break, the two sides left the field at half-time on level terms.

The second half was a lot livelier. Les Parisiens wasted no time after the break and were rewarded for their efforts after a sublime team move. Kylian Mbappé, who picked up two assists in Istanbul, got another as he perfectly found Ander Herrera, whose shot found the back of the net (0-1, 47'). The Frenchman then won a penalty, which he converted with real authority to double the visitor's lead (0-2, 65').

In the minutes that followed, Les Canaris reacted and won a penalty of their own, but the majestic Keylor Navas denied Kader Bamba from the spot (68'). And Thomas Tuchel's side, who were reassured by their lead and assisted by the arrival of academy products Bandiougou Fadiga and Kais Ruiz, even scored a third through Pablo Sarabia, as the forward smartly turned the ball home (0-3, 88').

Focused and committed despite the build-up of matches, Les Parisiens continue their run with a seventh consecutive win in Ligue 1. A win that allows the champions to maintain their spot at the top of the table before they travel to RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Wednesday.
