Leo Messi finishes as Ligue 1’s top assist provider
Having provided 16 assists in Ligue 1 this season, Lionel Messi has been crowned as the league’s top assist provider for the 2022–2023 season.
Messi received the award for his achievement after the game against Clermont Foot 63 on Matchday 38.
The Argentine has notched up 16 assists in 32 league games this season and succeeds teammate Kylian Mbappé, who took home the award last year.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner thereby finishes ahead of another of his teammates, Neymar Jr (11 assists), as well as Olympique de Marseille’s Jonathan Clauss (also 11 assists).
