Lassana Diarra: 'I knew what I was getting myself into'

The January signing looks back on the 2017-18 season, which ended in yet another quadruple.

Lass, you arrived in the middle of the season. What was your opinion of Paris Saint-Germain before you joined?
"It's true that even when you're abroad you keep an eye on what is happening in your own country. Paris Saint-Germain, you know they represent France. I saw the first few games, including the win over Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes. Before my spells abroad, I played in France and so I knew what I was getting myself into before I came here in January, and all the more so because I'm from Paris, I have a lot of friends here."

What was your arrival like?
"I arrived at the end of January, and there were big games coming up for the club in February. I needed to get back into shape as I had played just four games in the preceding eight months, so when you jump on a train that is already going at full steam...especially that of Paris Saint-Germain, which goes even faster than the others! It was a challenge for me. Today, overall, I'm quite happy with myself as there were three trophies at the end of it all. Individually, I feel better, I feel good."

What is your stand-out memory of the season?
"I would say one of the best goals of the season when Neymar crossed for Kurzawa, who did a scissor kick...it was a very nice goal. There was also that of Lo Celso which wasn't bad, but Layvin's one is my favourite."
