Lady Luck deserts Paris…

The highlights:
On paper this match pitted first against last on the Ligue 1 standings, but on the pitch, it was a different story. The Burgundy side forced Keylor Navas into action early, through Ndong (2') and Tavares (4'). The hosts kept coming with Cadiz going close (16', 19'). But Paris are always dangerous and from Angel Di Maria's sixth assist of the season, Kylian Mbappé lifted the ball over Gomis and into the back of the net (0-1, 19')! The France international's fifth goal of the season took the sting out of the match, and while Mbappé went on a great run into the area (38') it was Chouiar's equaliser in the sixth minute of stoppage time that lifted the Stade Gaston-Gérard to its feet (1-1, 45+5')

Icardi and Paredes hit the woodwork…

And immediately after the restart, Dijon stunned Paris with a second goal, courtesy of Cadiz's solo run (2-1, 47'). The rain was falling constantly and Paris laid siege to the Dijon goal but neither Di Maria (56') nor Mbappé (58') could beat Gomis. Moments later, Icardi (61'), and then Fideo (62'), fired just wide! Paris kept coming and Icardi saw his header come back off the crossbar (64') before Paredes saw his efort from 20 metres out hit the post (69')!
Les Rouge et Bleu were all out of luck. Edinson Cavani came on and his back-heel failed to hit the target (83'), before Edi crossed for Icardi who controlled on his chest and then saw his bicycle kick fly wide of the mark (87'). Dijon held on to inflict a third defeat of the season, despite 19 shots at goal from Paris, and five on target. After six consecutive wins, Paris now have to bounce back at the Parc des Princes against Bruges on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League (21:00).
