Kylian Mbappé's stunning stats after Brugge

The Paris Saint-Germain striker shone against Club Brugge (4-1) on the 6th and final UEFA Champions League group stage matchday.

Against a Brugge side motivated to win a ticket to the Europa League, the Parisians proved that there is never a game completely bereft of importance. And, as it was Paris Saint-Germain's last European outing of 2021 - and given the pace at which he has been driving himself in recent weeks - it was difficult to imagine Kylian Mbappé not pulling out all the stops on Tuesday night.

A LIGHTNING-QUICK FIRST GOAL

Starting up front flanked by the Argentinean duo of Messi and Di Maria, the Frenchman wasted no time in getting down to business troubling the scorekeepers after just one minute and 11 seconds! By initiating a fine move down the left with Nuno Mendes, the world champion was on the spot to conclude the move by side-footing home with trademark cool (1-0, 1').

THE STAT

This is the fastest goal of his professional career (club and country), the one minute and 11 seconds beating his record of 1 minute and 39 seconds, set against Nantes in Ligue 1 a year ago on November 20.

A VOLLEY FOR THE SECOND

And in the aftermath, the unstoppable No7 managed to double the score with a sublime volley at the end of a copybook move that allowed his team to make the break. All this, served up by the best passer in the club's history: Angel Di Maria! (2-0, 6').

THE stat

By scoring his 30th and 31st goals in the Champions League, Kylian became the youngest player to reach this milestone in the history of the competition (22 years and 352 days). After just six minutes and 21 seconds of play, he had bagged the second-fastest double in a Champions League match, behind only Rodrygo, who took six minutes and 13 seconds to do the same for Real Madrid against Galatasaray in November 2019.

A SUPERSONIC ASSIST

And it was not over, since the marksman then had the luxury of turning provider, playing in Leo Messi after a dazzling solo run. The Argentine the unleashed a superb shot for Paris's third goal (3-0, 37'). The goal reminded everyone of the complicity the two showed Manchester City, which allowed the No30 to score his very first goal for the capital club.

THE stat

He has now been involved in exactly 51 goals in 51 Champions League matches (31 goals, 20 assists). Since his debut in the competition in 2016-17, he has been involved in at least three goals in a single game in six European matches. This season alone, the French international has been decisive in every single match played by the capital club in the Champions League.

The icing on the cake: the player who was already the Ligue 1 assist leader (eight assists) backed it up on the European scene, going to the top of the Champions League assists table (six).
