Kylian Mbappé: 'It's the victory of a whole squad'

The Paris Saint-Germain coach, Bradley Barcola and Kylian Mbappé spoke to PSG TV after the historic win against FC Barcelona on Tuesday 16 April at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final (1-4).

LUIS ENRIQUE

"We are all very happy. Listen to our supporters singing in the stadium. Well, I think we just experienced a first match that we didn't expect to unfold like this. I believe, and I say it again, that the result of the first leg wasn't fair. And in the second leg, we were in the competition at every moment. It's obvious that the red card made a difference, but we are very happy for the confidence we felt from our supporters and the joy of reaching the semi-finals.

For me, the first 12 minutes of the match were spectacular. Interestingly, we conceded a goal as soon as Barcelona entered our box, but I think we managed to turn the situation around. We tried to attack in every possible and imaginable way. Playing with a numerical advantage is always difficult because you tend to accumulate players in front of the ball and lose your structure and positioning, which makes it complicated. But I think the team played at a very high level. All the players, without exception, were very happy. It's a celebration, it's a celebration."

KYLIAN MBAPPÉ

"We are very happy, we are very, very happy. We definitely wanted to win. We worked for six days with the idea that we were going to come here and win. And it's the victory of a whole squad. Everyone must be congratulated, all the people behind the scenes of the club. Of course, the staff, the players, we are in the spotlight, but really, the entire club prepared for this match with the idea that we were not going to return home sad. And we are very happy to head home with this qualification in the bag. And it's one more step, one more step towards the final at Wembley. Now, we have a team, Dortmund. It's very difficult because we've already played them in the group stage, but we will try to win the first match to start with.

The supporters? Yes, it's a great story. I think the people deserve it. The people deserve all this. I know there have been quite a few disappointments, quite a few moments when they have been very sad and I think they deserve this moment of happiness. So a message to all the supporters: enjoy it, of course, be reasonable, take care of yourselves, take care of your family, but, but enjoy it because you deserve it. I know they have suffered a lot but here we are, we are enjoying it. We have to stay focused and to stay on track towards our goal. But they don't have to hold back, so let them enjoy it and they will be there to support us, I'm sure of that.

My performance? I want to help my team. The truth is, I always want to help the team. We are in a period where every detail counts and it's true that goals help, but not only that. I want to contribute on both sides of the field, to try to help the team as much as possible. To give everything and have no regrets."

BRADLEY BARCOLA

"I'm really very, very proud. It's my first season, my first semi-final. Honestly, I'm really proud to be here. I couldn't celebrate with the others in the dressing room, but I heard they celebrated well. So I'm very happy and really very, very proud.

My match? I'm very happy. I had prepared this match really well, so I knew I would be important in this game. The coach had talked to me a lot, so what could be better?

The supporters? Oh yes, they have followed us everywhere. Even in the first leg, we lost 2-3, they still sang, they still believed in us. So we want to go all the way with them, it's exceptional and I hope we'll make them proud."
