Kylian Mbappé equals Carlos Bianchi's record

With the goal he scored against Saint-Étienne on Wednesday in the quarter finals of the Coupe de la Ligue, Kylian Mbappé equalled a record that has been held for over thirty years by Carlos Bianchi.

Aside from the attacking delights on show from Les Parisiens on Wednesday against Saint-Étienne (6-1), which saw the club qualify for the semi-finals of the Coupe de la Ligue, Kylian Mbappé also made the most of the evening to improve his stats.

With two assists for Mauro Icardi (4-0, 49' / 5-0, 57'), and getting his own name on the scoresheet with the final Paris goal of the encounter (6-0, 67'), the French forward also sets a new record. The n°7 has scored in eight consecutive matches, equalling the record held by Carlos Bianchi (8 matches with at least one goal during the 1978-1979 season). Mbappé, who has scored 10 goals in these eight matches, has now established the best scoring run of his career.

The young World Cup winner has now been involved in 30 goals this season (19 goals and 11 assists) in 20 competitive matches.
