Kylian Mbappé: 'Equalling Ibra here is particularly special'

"We started a little like the match against Nantes, we conceded a goal quickly, we were a bit scrappy, be that in how we tried to play, in our intensity etc. Then we reorganised ourselves, we started to play our game, we started to create chances again, to find the gaps. We managed to equalise before the break and that put us in a good position to then take our time to force things. But we did so straight away, we scored two goals, one after the other, and then it was a question of managing the game. There were a couple of chances, but I think that on the whole, it was a good performance.

"My 156th goal? It's incredibly special. I think that having the opportunity to be able to equal the record of a player like Ibrahimovic is fantastic. We all know what he did here, so it means that we are playing with high standards. And being able to score at the Parc des Princes and to equal the record here is particularly special. We know that it was a difficult match in the first half, and we were able to turn things around in the second half, so that is positive. At half-time, we spoke among ourselves, the coach gave new instructions, and we knew that after the match against Nantes, we needed to get back on track, at any cost, and that is what we did. We have lots of character. We have top players, it's a great team, we have succeeded in getting back into matches late on, winning matches at the very end, so that really proves that this team has character and we need to show it on the pitch.

Kylian's 156th goal? We all know the qualities that Kylian has, he is a born goalscorer. We know that he is also strong in one-on-ones and can beat his opponent. We are all very happy to be able to play with him and to have him in our team."
