Kimpembe: 'Still a long way to go'

Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe spoke to the media at the traditional pre-match press conference ahead of Friday's Week 10 Ligue 1 clash away to Nice at Allianz Riviera:

NICE

"Before we talk about Bruges or Marseille, we have a big game tomorrow against Nice. This is the most important match for now. Nice are a very good team, especially at home. We often find it tough there. We will have to play well to get a result. We know that it will be a very physical, tough game."

HIS INJURY

"It was a tough period, but it's finished today. I had a longer preseason than other players, but I feel good now and enjoy playing with my teammates. I try to just keep working hard and show that I'm 200% committed to this team. My teammates injuries? That's part of football. We have to deal with that. It helps forge your character, your mental strength, it can united us a bit more. There are a lot of matches in different competitions. Playing away on a Friday after an international break is very difficult, but we have to adapt to that. We have a very competitive team, with great palyers."

CURRENT FORM

"I know how to analyse my own performances. Last season wasn't a great one for me. I'm a competitor and I want to bounce back, show how good I can be. There is still a long way to go, a lot of work to be done. I'm not looking for revenge against anyone, but I really want to bounce back."

CAPTAIN'S ARMBAND

"I'm a product of the club's youth academy, a Titi. I live for the club. To wear the captain's armband is an honour, even if it's an occasional thing. I will be very happy to wear it again in the future. My role with the young players? I'm a bit like their big brother. It's always great to see the kids emerge from the academy and play for the first team. It's not easy for them, because there's not enough room for everyone. They need to fight hard. But I'm very happy to see them training with the pros and I try and guide them correctly, the way others guided me."
