Navas: 'We are confident'

Rouge et Bleu goalkeeper Keylor Navas dropped into PSG TV to talk about his role in the side and look ahead to the next Ligue 1 match against Angers.

Keylor, how does training work for the goalkeepers at the Ooredoo Training Centre?
When we arrive in the morning, we discuss the day's exercises with the staff. We know what to expect and we know what we have to work on. The idea is to work on a lot of things every day, to be ready for any situation. The working atmosphere is great, when you arrive at work with a smile and the joy of doing this job, you never have time to get bored.

You do very specific exercises ever day...
We try to put ourselves in complicated situations, and we work a lot on falling and how to fall. You have to be quick, attentive and the important thing is to do the exercises as quickly as possible, but never lose your coordination and position when you dive. You must always be in the right position, so you must have that balance to be able to control your body.

Do you use the video to analyse thing and improve?
Yes, with Gianluca Spinelli, our goalkeeper coach, we always watch videos. I think it's important. It helps us to get to know our opponent well, to know what they can do. There is always the possibility that some things may change on match day that they do something different, but it helps a lot because I think it's like studying for an exam. The more you study, the more confidence you have to take the exam and get a better grade. And it's the same for me.

How has Alexandre Letellier settled in?
Really well. Since he’s been here he’s been really nice, very respectful of everyone. He’s worked very well the last week and you can see he’s a good goalkeeper. All three of us get along very well.

The team seems to have rediscovered its form in the last few matches. That bodes well for the future…
I think the summer was complicated for everyone because of the health situation. Our preparation has been truncated of course, and it's difficult. And I think that the physical condition of a group is really important, and little by little we are getting back to our full potential. We are confident, we continue to work well and we have good results and we are on a good run. That's what we need to keep moving forward.
