It was a May 14: Zlatan's last game at the Parc des Princes

Four years ago to the day, Zlatan Ibrahimovic played his final game at the Parc des Princes, on the last day of the season against FC Nantes.

We have to rewind to 2016 to dive into this match. That night, Zlatan Ibrahimovic did his final lap of honour. A week before the Coupe de France final won against Marseille at the Stade de France (4-2), the Swedish giant bade his real farewell at the Parc des Princes, in front of his fans.

After a tunnel of honour when he came onto the pitch, the scene was set: in the last league game of the season, the attacker would pit himself against FC Nantes. He had only one objective in his sights: scoring in order to equal Carlos Bianchi's season record (37 goals) and why not score a double in order to claim the season record outright. Of course, it was impossible for the n°10 not to take on the challenge.

A first powerful shot after a Di Maria pass (8'), and then the match was stopped in the 10th minute (a reference to his shirt number) as the stadium gave an ovation to the striker. In a hurry, he then released Di Maria down the right, the Argentinian crossed to the back post for... Ibrahimovic who finished it off with his chest (1-0, 18'). A first goal to equal the record.

Another chance comes along and Dupé (30') saves, before the Nantes goalkeeper prevails again as Zlatan thinks he's offside (31'), a van der Wiel cross that he can't quite reach... and in the end it's Lucas who moves Paris clear (2-0, 43').

Into the second half, and the Swede hasn't abandoned the idea of making history. The whole team seems to be working together in order to offer him an unforgettable send-off. A first shot from 20 metres draws another save from Dupé (51') then he fires in a free-kick with force, it's pushed out by the Nantes goalkeeper and finished off by Marquinhos for the 3rd goal (3-0, 52'), and he has to be patient.

Another long range shot after a gem of a pass by Pastore is beaten away by the Nantes goalkeeper (83'), and then a perfect lifted pass by the Argentinian doesn't get met with the right finish by the Swede... In the final few minutes of the game it appears the record is flying away. That didn't take into account the determination of Javier Pastore, who ends up crossing to the back post for the giant, who heads the ball in (4-0, 89'). It's the record-breaking goal.

If the match isn't yet over, it's with this image that the Parc des Princes says goodbye to its king. And it's joined by his children (one with a shirt reading "King", the other "Legend") on the pitch that he soaks up the acclaim.

That evening, Paris Saint-Germain comfortably beat FC Nantes in the last league game of the season (4-0) and the Swede left France having scored 38 goals in Ligue 1 in a single season, beating the historic record of Carlos Bianchi.
