International press review

Paris Saint-Germain's eye-catching 2-0 win over Marseille on Sunday caught the attention of the world's football media this weekend...

"Paris Saint-Germain continue to soar above the French championship," explained Brazil's Extra Globo as they looked back at Les Rouge et Bleu's win at the Stade Vélodrome. The international press were quick to pay tribute to Paris Saint-Germain's unbeaten start to the season and an 18th Classique without defeat in all competitions for the capital club.

The evening was punctuated by the stunning second-half cameo from Kylian Mbappé, who opened the scoring just three minutes after coming on for Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. The "Super-sub" for one night, as he was called by ESPN, "inspired" Paris, for Four Four Two. Above and beyond the win, Thomas Tuchel coaching choices were also the subject of much debate.

"Tuchel stuck to his guns and it worked," declared Yahoo Sports, for whom the German "showed audacity". "Despite his affable and easy-going appearance, Tuchel is a strict disciplinarian,"  added the American site who highlighted that the Rouge et Bleu coach "was congratulated by the French media for his managerial qualities."

England's Daily Mail noted that the capital club "equalled Tottenham's record of 11 straight wins to start the 1960-61 season, the best ever in Europe's Top 5 leagues." A special win for the BBC, acquired over the "historic rival".
