Hakimi's Morocco knocked out in the quarter finals

Parisian Achraf Hakimi’s Morocco side lost 2-1 to Egypt on Sunday 30 January at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde, in the quarter finals of the CAF Africa Cup of Nations Cameroon 2021.

After having participated in his team's qualification to the quarter finals of the African Cup of Nations by scoring two goals in two games against Gabon (2-2) and Malawi (2-1), and having been elected man of the match in the round of 16, Achraf Hakimi could not save the Atlas Lions this Sunday evening.

Unfortunately, the former player and coach of the club from the capital Vahid Halilhodzic’s men were indeed eliminated by Mohamed Salah's Egypt.
