Hakimi's Morocco go flying into the knockout rounds

Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi won with the Moroccan national team against Canada in the third matchday of the group stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar (1-2).

After an encouraging draw against Croatia (0-0) to start their tournament, and a brilliant victory against Belgium (2-0), the Atlas Lions faced the Canadian national team in their last game of the group phase of this World Cup with one objective: qualification for the round of 16.

Hoalid Regragui's men made their fans happy with a win against the already eliminated Canadians, who kept going until the end. As a result, they booked their ticket for the knockout rounds, something which they have not done since the 1986 World Cup.

Achraf Hakimi put in another good performance after starting the game. The Paris Saint-Germain defender made his mark on the match when he set up Youssef En-Nesyri for the second Moroccan goal.
