Hakimi's Morocco go flying into the knockout rounds
Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi won with the Moroccan national team against Canada in the third matchday of the group stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar (1-2).
After an encouraging draw against Croatia (0-0) to start their tournament, and a brilliant victory against Belgium (2-0), the Atlas Lions faced the Canadian national team in their last game of the group phase of this World Cup with one objective: qualification for the round of 16.
Hoalid Regragui's men made their fans happy with a win against the already eliminated Canadians, who kept going until the end. As a result, they booked their ticket for the knockout rounds, something which they have not done since the 1986 World Cup.
