Gianluigi Buffon: 'A lot of enthusiasm'

The Paris Saint-Germain 'keeper fronted the media on the eve of the Ligue 1 Conforama Week 23 clash away to Lyon at the Groupama Stadium at 21:0 on Sunday, 3 February.

LYON
"When we played them in the first half of the season, they really impressed me. The heavy defeat wasn't completely indicative. They had played a great match, with a lot of individual and collective quality. In the UEFA Champions League group stage, they were unbeaten and managed to win in Manchester, so we have a lot of respect for them."

ALPHONSE AREOLA
"I think Alphonse is already one fo the best 'keepers. I want to bring him a bit of my experience to help him approach each situation as best as possible. It's important for me, for Alphonse's progress and that of the team as well."

MAKING A DIFFERENCE
"For me, having the respect and regard of my teammates is more important than playing in a match. I think it's important for them to see a 41-year-old player who trains with a lot of enthusiasm. I hope that what I do can help them to keep progressing."

THE FUTURE
"If Alphonse stays here, I will stay for an extra season. But the most important thing is to concentrate on the matches against Lyon, Bordeaux, Manchester... We still have plenty of time to think about my contract."
