François M’Pelé is a guest of honour for Paris Saint-Germain in Reims

François M'Pelé, a former striker for the Rouge et Bleu (217 matches, 95 goals scored from 1973 to 1979), has been invited to Reims by President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi for the fourth matchday of Ligue 1.

The Franco-Congolese striker, who lives in Champagne and is to be accompanied by his son, is still the seventh highest scorer in competitive matches in the club from the capital’s history, behind Edinson Cavani (200 goals), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (156 goals), Kylian Mbappé (133 goals), Pedro Miguel Pauleta (109 goals), Dominique Rocheteau (100 goals) and Mustapha Dahleb (98 goals).

He is also the record scorer of the Rouge et Bleu in the French Cup (28 goals scored) and the first Parisian scorer at the Parc des Princes in the first division, on 13 August 1974 against Metz (final score 2-2).
