Feignies-Aulnoye enter the Paris Saint-Germain history books

Paris Saint-Germain, current holders of the trophy and also holders of the record for the most wins in the Coupe de France, will kick off their campaign in the Round of 64 on Sunday at 21:10 against Feignies-Aulnoye FC (N3) at the Stade du Hainault.

Entente Feignies-Aulnoye Football Club will enter the Paris Saint-Germain history books on Sunday, becoming Les Rouge et Bleu's 100th opposition in the competition since 1970.

It was in Normandy against Dieppe that Les Parisiens played their first ever Coupe de France match, around 51 years ago on 22 November 1970, with a 1-0 victory and a goal for Jacky Rémond.

With that first win, Les Parisiens' record in the competition currently stands at 244 matches played, with 174 victoires, 29 draws and 41 defeats*, 513 goals scored and 205 conceded.

With 14 titles, Paris Saint-Germain boast the most Coupe de France title wins, in just 51 seasons. The club that Les Rouge et Bleu have played against most in the competition is Marseille (13 matches) ahead of Nantes (11 matches) and Monaco (9 matches), with home and away legs being played in several seasons during the 1970s and 1980s.

100 opponents and some great memories for the Paris fans, with the first trophy won in 1982 against Saint-Etienne, and then again one year later against Nantes in the final at the Parc des Princes, without forgetting the 7 consecutive finals since 2014, with 6 wins and just one loss against Rennes in 2019.

A run that they will be looking to continue in 2021-22, starting with this first match at Valenciennes against Entente Feignies-Aulnoye.

* a match that finished with a penalty shootout is considered as a draw.

Note: Paris Saint-Germain played two clubs from Dijon, FC Dijon (in 1986) then Dijon FCO (2012, 2019 and 2020). The first became the second when they merged with Cercle Dijon in 1998, we have considered this to be the same club.
