Fabián Ruiz: "I try to give everything"

Paris Saint-Germain coach Fabián Ruiz spoke to PSG TV after the 3-1 victory over OGC Nice in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday 13th March.

LUIS ENRIQUE

"I think we played the first 35 minutes of the first half superbly well. We played to a very high level against one of the best defensive sides in the league. A team that presses very well, concedes very few goals and defends wonderfully. And we played an incredible 35 minutes. But in a rather strange moment, we conceded a goal and a goal generates a feeling of doubt: what happens next? We were better, and we started again in the second half very well, dominating the game, creating a lot of chances to score. I think it was a very, very complete match.

Our pressing? We've already scored a lot of goals that way, by pressing in our opponents' half. We're a team that takes a lot of risks because we defend high up the pitch. If they beat you in a duel, it's very dangerous, but if we get the upper hand, we score goals. Today, that's how we scored another goal. In terms of strategy, we're continuing to make progress."

FABIAN RUIZ

"We knew they were going to be very tough opponents, but it was important for us to get through. It was like a final. In the end, it was only 90 minutes and I'm very happy to have made it through to the semi-finals. My performance? I was happy with my game. At the end of the day, when you score, you're always happy. I hadn't scored for a long time. But above all, I'm happy with the team's victory, that's the most important thing. It's true that at the moment, the coach has confidence in me. I'm very happy to get minutes in important matches and I try to make the most of them every time I play, because at the end of the day, we have such a competitive team, with very good players, and it's difficult to get a place in the eleven. But I try to do my best so that the coach continues to count on me."
