Fabián Ruiz: "I can't wait to put this shirt on"
Fabián Ruiz, the fifht signing of the 2022-2023 season, gave his first interview to the club's media, and delivered his first impressions as a Rouge et Bleu. Here’s what he had to say!
Welcome Fabián! We can imagine that emotions are running high at the time of signing for the French Champions?
"I am delighted to join Paris Saint-Germain. It is great for me to start this new stage of my career in this country. And I am proud to be joining one of the best clubs in Europe with the best players in the world. It's a really exciting challenge.
What kind of challenge are you expecting?
It's always a huge challenge to join a big club, because it forces you to give your best. I'm going to have the best players with me and this incredible club to play for, so I'm going to have to be at my best every day to live up to the club. Being able to share a dressing room with the best players in the world is something to be proud of.
I imagine you can't wait to put on the Parisian shirt!
Absolutely. I can't wait to put this shirt on and do my bit. I just want it to start now! I can't wait. Since the start of the negotiations, well, I was thinking of playing my first game at the Parc des Princes. I had the chance to play there a year ago, but now I want to play there in a Parisian shirt.
What do you want to show as a Paris Saint-Germain player?
I want to be seen to give my best every time I step on the pitch. I hope to win as many titles as possible, because I think this club really deserves to be at the top. I want to show that I come with commitment, the desire to work and with the right mindset. I think that's the most important thing for a player.
Lastly, do you have any words for our fans?
"I want to tell you that I'm very happy, and looking forward to being at the Parc des Princes. I am sure that this year will be a great one. Allez Paris!"
