Ex-players talk about the fans' role

Marcos Ceara, Dominique Rocheteau and Eric Rabesandratana tell PSG TV about the effect the fans can have on the team at the Parc des Princes.

They played for Paris Saint-Germain at different times, but they all felt the fans' love. Marcos Ceara (2007-2012), Dominique Rocheteau (1980-1987) and Eric Rabesandratana (1997-2001) have said the fans will have a crucial role  in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final first-leg tie at the Parc des Princes against Barcelona.

"The fans are very important for the club," said Marcos Ceara. "A club doesn't live without fans. When you're on the pitch, you play for them. When you're a player, you love the atmosphere, the fans who sing, who encourage you. The fans' role is crucial, they'll be at the Parc and elsewhere supporting the players. It's thanks to that the results keep coming, and we hope PSG can go all the way in every competition."

He scored 100 goals during his time in the capital, and Dominique Rocheteau knows what the atmosphere at the Parc des Princes can do: "The fans in the Parc des Princes and in the Auteuil Stand create a tremendous atmosphere. I love the Parc des Princes, it's a very special stadium for me and for a lot of other people. The fans are there, the support is unwavering. It'll be a real plus for our players."

Eric Rabesandratana still follows the club he played for closely, and has seen a connection build between team and fans: "The coach, the players, they have all had a connection with the fans since the start of the season. Luis Enrique understands what PSG fans mean for the club, the team. He immediately took this important aspect into consideration. He was respectful of the fans, and today the passion and support is strong because of that connection."
