Everything you need to know about Paris Saint-Germain - Nîmes!

The history, the stakes and the keys to the game! Find out everything you need to know before the start of Paris Saint-Germain's first match of the 2019-20 Ligue 1 Conforama season - against Nîmes at the Parc des Princes!

A little history....
This is the 27th official match between Paris Saint-Germain and Nîmes Olympique, and Parisians have the historical advantage with 12 wins, six draws and eight defeats. The club from the capital won twice last season against the Crocos (2-4 in Nîmes and 3-0 at the Parc des Princes).

No fewer than 13 players have worn the jerseys of both clubs: Jean-Pierre Adams, William Ayache, Armando Bianchi, Pierre Bianconi, Yannick Boli, Aliou Cissé, Lionel Justier, Gérard Lanthier, Loïc Landre, Jean-Claude Lemoult, Didier Martel, Jacky Novi and Christian Perez. Dominique Bathenay is PSG's top scorer against Nîmes, with five strikes, ahead of Carlos Bianchi (four goals) and Kylian Mbappé (three goals).

The stakes...
It's a new season, but PSG are still as ambitious as ever! Les Rouge et Bleu will be looking to start this new 2019-20 season in the best possible way by winning their first game. Note that Paris have won their last four opening-day matches - LOSC 1-0, SC Bastia 1-0, Amiens 2-0 and Caen 3-0) - without conceding a single goal.

This meeting will also be an opportunity to see some newcomers take the pitch at the Parc des Princes for the first time in official competition.

The keys to the match...
After a successful pre-season in China and victory in the Trophée des Champions, Paris Saint-Germain must capitalise on a very good dynamic right from the beginning of the season. With many goals scored this summer in friendly matches, and in Shenzhen against Rennes, the Parisian attack is the key to this match, and will have to break down the Nîmes rearguard.

Paris have scored at least one goal in every one of their last 27 official matches at the Parc des Princes, a run that dates back to 12 May, 2018 and a defeat to Rennes (0-2).
