Everything to know about Le Havre AC - Paris Saint-Germain!

History, challenges and keys to the match! Check out all you need to know before the kick-off in the friendly between Paris Saint-Germain and Le Havre on Sunday 12 July at 7pm at the Stade Océane.

A bit of history...

Paris Saint-Germain travel to Le Havre eleven years after the last match between the two sides in Normandy, which saw a victory for Les Rouge et Bleu in Ligue 1 (3-1 on 15/11/2008). Guillaume Hoarau, just months after leaving Le HAC, scored a brace for Les Parisiens.

In the history of encounters between the two sides, there have been 44 matches (including 36 competitive encounters) with the club from the capital winning 26, drawing 13 and losing only 5.

Although Les Parisiens have never had the opportunity to take to the pitch of the Stade Océane, which opened in July 2012, they maintain some good memories from their matches in Normandy.

On 13 September 1970, the two clubs drew 2-2 in just the third match of Paris Saint-Germain’s history, at the Stade de la Cavée Verte.

At the Stade Jules Deschaseaux, Les Parisiens saved their place in the top flight thanks to a 1-0 win on the last day of the season in June 1988.

It was also against Havre Athletic Club that Les Rouge et Bleu missed their first penalty, when Fernando Cruz struck over the bar during a National match (former-Ligue 2) on 17 janvier 1971 (1-0).

History also remembers that it was against Les Havrais that Paris Saint-Germain celebrated their 25th anniversary at the Parc des Princes, with a 2-0 victory on 26 août 1995 and memorably a goal scored by Youri Djorkaeff under the watchful eyes of his father, Jean, the first ever captain of the club from the capital.

19 players have worn the colours of both teams: Yannick Boli, Vikash Dhorasoo, Lassana Diarra, Didier Digard, Nicolas Douchez, Pierre Ducrocq, Xavier Gravelaine, Yannick Guillochon, Guillaume Hoarau, Jean-Louis Leonetti, Jérôme Leroy, Modeste M’Bami, Patrice Marquet, Grégory Paisley, Cyrille Pouget, Christophe Revault, Bruno Roux, Christian Zajaczkowski and Pascal Zaremba.

Before Paul Le Guen, current coach for the side from Normandy, Erick Mombaerts and Denis Troch were both at Paris Saint-Germain before coaching Le HAC.
