A little bit of history...

Paris Saint-Germain - Lens, the return of one of the classics of our league. The two teams have faced each other 83 times in competitive games, with the Parisians largely dominant (40 wins, 19 draws and 24 defeats).

Lens haven't played at the Parc des Princes against the club from the capital for over six years when the Parisians were 4-1 victors on March 7 2015. The Parisians' last defeat at home dates back to November 5 2006 (1-3 Lens win at the Parc des Princes in the league).

Paris Saint-Germain - Lens is often an exciting game: with 254 goals scored in 83 matches, that's over three goals scored on average. The two teams have only played out four 0-0 draws in history.

The Paris Saint-Germain top scorer against Lens is Mustapha Dahleb, with 11 goals. François M’Pelé (8 goals), Dominique Rocheteau (7 goals) et Safet Susic (5 goals) trail him.

Two players have scored a hat trick against Lens: François M’Pelé at the Stade Bollaert on February 28 1976 in the Coupe de France round of 16 (0-3) and Laurent Leroy at the Parc des Princes on April 14 2000 (4-1).

what's at stake...

Just four games left before the league ends! The run in is underway in Ligue 1. The Rouge et Bleu are tracking down leaders Lille who will have to face Lens next weekend. Monaco and Lyon are also fighting for the title and for UEFA Champions League qualification.

The Parisiens will need to get back to winning ways at the Parc des Princes : you need to go back to the 2009-2010 season to find five home defeats in a season for the Rouge et Bleu.

the keys to the match...

The Parisian players particularly like playing Lens: as the Sang et Or have conceded 146 goals against Paris Saint-Germain. Only two clubs have conceded more: Saint-Étienne (161 goals) and Lyon (158 goals).

Despite Kylian Mbappé's absence the Rouge et Bleu will be able to call upon Mauro Icardi, who scored a hat trick in his last game at the Parc des Princes, against Angers (5-0) in the Coupe de France quarter final on April 21. The Argentina striker also scored in his last two league games for Paris Saint-Germain: against Saint-Étienne (3-2, on 18/04/2021) and in Metz (1-3, on 24/04/2021).

Angel Di Maria can also make Paris Saint-Germain history: the Argentina midfielder has recorded 103 assist and has equalled Safet Susic's club record and could have the record to himself against Lens. The number 11 could play his 259th competitive game for Paris Saint-Germain and enter the top 20 most capped players for the Rouge et Bleu.
