A little bit of history...

It's the second competitive match between the two clubs, following the 2-0 win for the Rouge et Bleu in Turkey on October 28.

It's the 12th match for the Parisians face against a Turkish club (Galatasaray, Besiktas, Kayserispor, Basaksehir) and Paris have 7 wins, 1 draw and 3 defeats.

The capital club have played 5 matches against Turkish clubs at the Parc des Princes, winning 4 and drawing 1, scoring 13 goals and only conceding 1.

Paris Saint-Germain are taking part in the group stage of the Champions League for the 9th season running since the Rouge et Bleu returned to the competition in 2012. Only 5 other European clubs have managed this:  Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Juventus and Manchester City.

Paris could be one of 4 European clubs to have qualified from the group stage every season since 2012-2013, along with Bayern Munich, Barça (already qualified) and Real, who haven't yet booked their ticket for the Round of 16 of the competition before the final round of group matches.

Paris Saint-Germain will play their 121st UEFA Champions League match (66 wins, 22 draws and 32 losses). The Parisians will also play their 233rd European match*, with the record standing at 122 wins, 52 draws and 58 losses.

Only one player has turned out for both clubs: the Franco-Turk Mevlüt Erding.

What's at stake...

Paris Saint-Germain, after their win at Manchester United (3-1, on 02/12/2020) have their destiny in their own hands and will qualify for the knockout stage with a win, or even a draw.

The Parisians have finished in first place in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League in each of the last 2 seasons, and 5 times in 8 editions since the 2012-2013 season.

The keys to the match...

Keylor Navas should play his 50th match in Parisian colours. The Costa Rican goalkeeper has a positive record: 26 goals conceded in 49 matches with 27 clean sheets, and and 11 goals conceded in 14 UEFA Champions League matches, with 7 clean sheets.

Marquinhos could play his 295th competitive match with Paris Saint-Germain to move into the top 10 in the club's history, level with Blaise Matuidi.

Marco Verratti, with 62 matches played for Paris Saint-Germain, has played more continental matches for the Rouge et Bleu than anybody else in the capital club's history, ahead of Thiago Silva (60 matches). Marquinhos completes the Parisian podium, with 59 matches played in the UEFA Champions League.
