Everything on Paris-Orléans!

Take a look at everything you need to know ahead of kick-off in the friendly between Paris Saint-Germain and Union sportive Orléans Loiret football on Saturday 24 July at 19:00 at the Stade de la Source in Orléans.

A bit of history

PSG-Orléans, Act 6! The two teams have faced off on three occasions in competitive matches: Round of 16 of the Coupe de France, with an elimination for Les Rouge et Bleu (0-4 on 04/04/1989 at the Parc des Princes, 3-3 on 15/04/1989 in Orléans) before a qualification in Round of 16 of the Coupe de la Ligue on 18 December 2018 (2-1 for Les Parisiens at the Stade de la Source).
Paris Saint-Germain and Orléans have also met in two friendly matches, with two victories for the club from the capital (2-1 on 11/11/1981, 3-1 on 11/07/1989).

Seven players have worn the colours of both sides: Loris Arnaud, Sylvain Bied, Marcel De Falco, Bruno Germain, Yann Lachuer, Gérard Lanthier and Franck Tanasi. Yohan Demoncy, an Orléans player (from 2018 until 2021) and a product of the Camp des Loges, and Stéphane Lambese a Haitian international since 2019, never played for the Paris Saint-Germain first team in a competitive match and therefore don't appear in this list.

THE STAKES

Paris Saint-Germain will be looking to extend the club's unbeaten run in friendlies since the start of the 2019-2020, and the International Champions Cup match against Inter Milan (1-1, 5-6 on penalties on 20/07/2019). Since this defeat on penalties, Les Parisiens are unbeaten with 7 wins (3-0 against Sydney FC in 2019-2020, 9-0 against Le Havre, 7-0 against Waasland Beveren, 4-0 against Celtic, 1-0 against Sochaux in 2020-2021, 4-0 against Le Mans and 2-1 against Augsburg in 2021-2022) and a draw with Chambly (2-2 on 17 July).

The keys to the match

Before the Trophée des Champions in eight days against Lille in Tel-Aviv, Mauricio Pochettino is expected to give more game-time to numerous young Parisians, as he awaits the return of several senior players including Ander Herrera, who could pick up his first minutes in Paris colours in 2021-2022.
