History, the stakes and the keys to the match! Discover everything you need to know before kick-off in Matchday 13 of Ligue 1 between Bordeaux and Paris Saint-Germain, on Saturday 6 November at 21:00 at the Matmut Atlantique.

A little bit of history...

Paris Saint-Germain - Bordeaux, a classic for Les Rouge et Bleu: Les Girondins, with 108 matches played, are the team to have played the highest number of matches against Les Parisiens, ahead of Monaco (106 matches), Lyon (103 matches) and Marseille (101 matches).

The history books largely favour the side from the capital with 44 victories, 24 draws and 39 defeats.

Paris Saint-Germain, who remain on a 13 match unbeaten run against Bordeaux (9 wins and 4 draws), have turned things around since the last defeat against Les Girondins on 15 March 2015 (2-3 defeat at the Stade Jacques Chaban-Delmas).

Les Parisiens are in fact unbeaten at the Matmut Atlantique, which opened on 18 May 2015: 8 matches played with six victories and two draws, and taking home the final of the Coupe de la Ligue against Monaco on 31 March 2018 (Paris Saint-Germain won 3-0) in Bordeaux.

Yacine Adli, Claude Arribas, William Ayache, Ali Benarbia, Hatem Ben Arfa, Clément Chantôme, Christian, Patrick Colleter, Stéphane Dalmat, Vikash Dhorasoo, Kaba Diawara, Raymond Domenech, Laurent Fournier, Guillaume Hoarau, Grzegorz Krychowiak, Jean-Louis Leonetti, Laurent Leroy, Peter Luccin, Patrice Marquet, Jérémy Menez, Roland Mitoraj, Bernard Pardo, Pedro Miguel Pauleta, Timothée Pembélé, Mauricio Pochettino, Philippe Redon, Alain Roche, Jean-Louis Rostagni, Younousse Sankharé, Toko, Jean-Pierre Tokoto and Zlatko Vujovic all wore the colours of both sides.

Paris Saint-Germain's top scorer against Bordeaux is Edinson Cavani, with 12 goals scored. He sits ahead of Pedro Miguel Pauleta (7 goals), Mustapha Dahleb, Neymar Jr and Dominique Rocheteau (5 goals).

The stakes...

Les Parisiens will look to continue their excellent start to the league campaign (10 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat in 12 matches) and build upon their 8 point lead over Nice, who sit behind Les Rouge et Bleu in the table.

Away from home in the league, Paris Saint-Germain haven't won in their last two matches (0-2 defeat at Rennes on 03/10/201, 0-0 draw at Marseille on 24/10/2021). Les Parisiens hadn't gone two matches without a win away from home since the 2018-2019 season, with the three defeats at Lille (1-5 on 14/04/2019), Nantes (2-3 on 17/04/2019) and Montpellier (2-3 on 31/04/2019).

The keys to the match...

In order to win away from home in the league, Les Parisiens will need to score in Bordeaux, after their last two matches without a goal at Rennes (0-2) and Marseille (0-0). Finding the back of the net away from home is something that the Paris forwards are more than capable of, given that only four clean sheets have been kept against them since start of the 2018-2019 season, that's 57 league matches.

In order to find a run of two league away matches without a goal, you have to go back over a decade, with two defeats against Grenoble (0-4 on 27/04/2010) and Le Mans (0-1 on 08/05/2010).
