A little bit of history

Angers marked the club from the capital's history twice : it was against the SCO that Paris Saint-Germain played their first game in the top flight on August 11 1971 (2-0 defeat).

Three years later on August 13 1974 Paris Saint-Germain won their first game in the top flight at the Parc des Princes against Angers once more (3-2 on August 23 1974).
As for the head-to-head, Paris Saint-Germain and Angers will face each other for the 27th time in competitive games this weekend. The club from the capital lead the head to head having recorded 16 wins, seven draws and just three defeats.

The Parisians are off the back of 10 consecutive wins against Angers in competitive matches, since the 0-0 draw at the Stade Raymond Kopa in Ligue 1 on December 1 2015. If  Paris Saint-Germain get the win away at Angers, that run could become the second best run in the club's history, after the 17 straight wins against Nantes (run that has now ended) and level with the 11 straight wins against Lorient (run still ongoing).
Angers is the only team to have conceded six goals against Paris Saint-Germain this season, during the 6-1 defeat at the Parc des Princes on October 2 last year. This was also the first time that the Parisians scored six goals against the SCO.
12 players have played for both sides: Loris Arnaud, Claude Arribas, Thierry Bacconnier, Sylvain Bied, Jean-Pierre Bosser, Grégory Bourillon, Jean Deloffre, Jean-Pierre Dogliani, Bruno Germain, Albert Poli, Kalifa Traoré and Pierre Vermeulen.

François M’Pelé (Paris striker between 1973 and 1979) who is the only player to have scored a hat-trick against Angers and Kylian Mbappé are the Parisians' top scorers against the SCO, having scored six goals each. Angel Di Maria and Neymar trail them with five goals and Edinson Cavani has  four goals.

What's at stake

The Rouge et Bleu will want to continue their run of five games unbeaten in Ligue 1 (three wins and two draws).
Paris Saint-Germain are on a fantastic run of 23 competitive matches without defeat against the SCO. Paris haven't lost in 45 years since January 12 1975 when they lost away from home (1-3). That's another record for the Rouge et Bleu, ahead of Nantes (22 games unbeaten, the run has ended since) and Saint-Etienne (22 matches, run ongoing).
The Parisians could also score their 2800th goal in the top flight tonight. They've currently scored 2799!

The keys to the game

Paris Saint-Germain will be able to count on their on form striker Moise Kean, who's scored in each of the club's last three games in Ligue 1 against Strasbourg,  Saint-Etienne and Brest.
Angel Di Maria has scored 49 times in Ligue 1 and could reach the 50 goal mark in the top flight. Only 11 Paris players have reached 50 league goals in the club's history.
