Edinson Cavani: 'Fantastic conditions'

The Paris Saint-Germain striker gave us his thoughts on the second day of the Qatar Tour 2019.

Edinson, here you are, with your teammates in Doha…
"A little bit of sun and warmth, it does you good! It's true that, right now, it's a little cold in Paris. It's good, we're going to enjoy the good conditions while working at the same time."

What do you think of Doha?
"It's not the first time that we come here. A lot of things have changed over the last five years. You can clearly see the changes. The country wants to grow, it has ambitions and wants to show its culture. That's why we're here. We're also here to prepare, the conditions are fantastic in every way. The pitch is magnificent, it gives you the chance to do good things during these four days. The infrastructure put at our disposition is magnificent."

Today, you've been one of the players most busy with sponsors...when you were younger did you think you'd have such a role?
"No, honestly, when I started playing I didn't think about TV, marketing or business. I didn't think about that, but things have changed, football has changed. I've gotten used to it, but I never thought I would do things like that. We're here for that, we're available."

You like animals, and on Wednesday you're going to a camel race!
"Yes, I heard about that for the first time last year. When I was on holiday with my girlfriend, we had a little tour and we heard the story about the camels. They're very expensive racing animals. They manage to run at 60 or 70km/h...I was surprised. We're going to have the opportunity to go see a race. I think it'll be a great experience."
