Donnarumma's Italy and Kehrer's Germany share the points

Gianluigi Donnarumma's Italy had to settle for a draw against Thilo Kehrer's Germany in the first matchday of the Nations League.

Italy, crowned European champions in July 2021 but damaged by failing to qualify for the World Cup twice in a row, were hoping for a breath of fresh air and a first step towards redemption this summer. But after Wednesday's 3-0 defeat by Argentina, the Azzurri had to settle for a draw this time, conceding the equaliser just three minutes after Pellegrini's opener. The German national team is still on a 10-game unbeaten streak.

It should be noted that the two Parisians played the entire match.
