Djeidi Gassama joins Sheffield Wednesday FC
Striker Djeidi Gassama has joined Championship side Sheffield Wednesday on a permanent transfer.
Born in Niéléba Haouissé (Mauritania), Djeidi Gassama started playing football with FC Mantois in Mantes-la-Ville, in the Yvelines department. The striker then joined the Stade Brestois youth academy at the age of 14. In 2019, he joined Paris Saint-Germain, where he signed his first professional contract a year later.
During the 2021/2022 season, Djeidi Gassama made a name for himself in the Youth League, scoring five goals and providing two assists in eight appearances. These outstanding performances earned him his professional debut in the Ligue 1 match against Montpellier on 14 May 2022. Last season, on loan in Belgium with KAS Eupen, he took part in 20 matches, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists.
