Danilo Pereira: "Capable of achieving great things"

The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder speaks in this interview of his successful adaptation and evokes the ambitions and the strength of the club, at a critical point in the season.

Danilo, how would you assess your integration at the club?
"I have been here for three months, but I have the impression I've been here for a lot longer! I have integrated really well and all the people here, the coaching staff and the players have done everything in order for me to feel good quickly, and that has been the case. The atmosphere is great in the dressing room and that helps you integrate faster, of course it does. I'm focused on training, both from a collective and an individual standpoint, at home, and that has been my daily routine since I arrived in Paris."

We sense the squad is very united...
"Yes, and the players are really strong! I'm thinking of Marquinhos, and I wasn't surprised by how good he was, because I knew his level, but his professionalism is incredible, and being able to train with him every day is a wonderful thing. Keylor is a great goalkeeper, and very humble, while Neymar is an exceptional player... I think the whole team is quality, and we have a squad capable of achieving great things."

What have you taken out of your first three months at the club?
"It's one of the best clubs in the world, with great players in the squad. The objectives are huge because there's a lot of ambition, the ambition to succeed and win. It's great to be part of the adventure of a club such as this one. We are above all professionals, and we are focused on the club's objectives. We are working to fulfil them and to make Paris Saint-Germain win."

How has the transition gone with Mauricio Pochettino ?
"The change is recent, and we've not been working together for very long, but I like what we do in training, the intensity of the work we put in every day. He's Argentinian and you can feel that in his approach to the game, based on the ball and intensity. It suits us and it will work in the very near future."

Unfortunately you still haven't had your first taste of the Parc des Princes with supporters...
"Of course we see them less. I had the opportunity to come across them at the airport when we headed off to play the Trophée des Champions against Marseille. It was crazy, very intense, and we felt the support of an entire people, as they backed us even from a distance. I can't wait to play a match with the Parc full."
