Danilo Pereira: '100 matches is a great milestone'

The Portuguese international gave an interview to PSG TV. He looks back on the 100-match milestone with Paris and looks ahead to the rest of the season.

Dani, you've come a long way! 100 matches since you arrived at Paris Saint-Germain...

"I remember my first game, it was in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League against Manchester United at home. It was not an easy start for me because we lost that game 2-1. Obviously, the fans were disappointed, but that's normal because we are Paris Saint-Germain and everyone wants us to win. But I didn't give up, I worked a lot and I raised my game, I was able to play a lot of matches and I had some good performances. But coming here was something incredible for me. To be able to play 100 matches in this shirt, in two and a half years, is something very beautiful for me, it is a great milestone."

How did your integration go?

"The context was totally different, in Porto I was captain. Here I had to learn everything. The game is also very different, here we have possession of the ball, which was not necessarily the case at Porto. I also had to adapt to a different system of play. After two and a half years, I think I have learned a lot, alongside the players, and the staff, I am a different player."

You're a very consistant player. How do you explain that?

"When I start a game, I want to do the best I can, I want to give everything to have a good game and help the team. I try to be as well-rounded as possible on a pitch, so that the coach and my teammates can have full confidence in me. That's my mentality, to be someone always wants to give everything."

What do you wish for in the future?

"I hope to win a lot of titles, a a lot of games! And I hope we'll meet again for my 200 matches! In any case, I want the best for the whole Paris Saint-Germain family."
