Coupe de la Ligue final to be played on July 31
It's now official: the 26th final of the Coupe de la Ligue BKT between Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyonnais will be held on Friday July 31 at 20:45 CET at the Stade de France.
In concertation with the two finalists, the broadcasters, the FFF and the LFP, the initial date of Saturday April 4 2020 had been postponed because of the health crisis.
Jérôme Brisard has been designated by the Federal Commission and the Direction Technique de l’Arbitrage to referee the match. An international referee, Jérôme Brisard will take charge of a final in the competition for the first time. He'll be assisted by Benjamin Pages and Gilles Lang. Thomas Leonard will be the fourth official, while Mikaël Lesage will be the VAR and Johan Hamel, the assistant VAR.
The LFP have also adopted the competition calendar for the 2020/2021 season.
"In Ligue 1 Uber Eats, the first day of matches of the 2020-21 season is scheduled for the weekend of 22 and 23 August 2020. In connection with UEFA and due to the Europa League and Champions League finals scheduled for respectively August 21 and 23, the fixture for this first matchday may undergo some adjustments to avoid scheduling conflicts," read an LFP statement.
