Club Chairman and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaïfi will attend the match alongside His Excellency the Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to France Leonardo Costantino and will lead the club’s homage to Argentina’s number 10, a true footballing genius who brought joy to fans all over the world.

Angel Di Maria, Leandro Paredes and Neymar paid their own tributes to Maradona at the Ooredoo Training Centre on Thursday, and the squad began their training session with a minute’s applause for the “pibe de oro”.

In the 1980s the Parisian public were graced with Diego’s presence on three occasions at the Parc des Princes, in the colours of Boca Juniors, Barcelona and the Argentina national team. The global football icon also returned to the Parc in 1995 to attend a French Coupe de la Ligue match between Paris Saint-Germain and Auxerre, and the stadium will fittingly fly the Argentina flag alongside the French tricolor on the roof.

The PSG squad will take to the field wearing commemorative Maradona t-shirts and a video of Diego will be played pre-match ahead of the minute’s silence. The club will also show their respects with “Adios El 10” and “RIP” messages on LED boards.

Paris Saint-Germain, its players, staff and supporters will forever keep in their hearts the man known by many as simply El Diez, or D10S.
