Christophe Galtier: "With every win, we get closer to the title"

The Paris Saint-Germain coach was accompanied by his captain as they spoke to PSG TV about the 2-1 win over Angers SCO on Matchday 32 of Ligue 1.

Christophe Galtier

“I’m satisfied with the result and with the first half. I’m not at all satisfied with the second half. As much as we were professional towards the start of the game and in the first half, in the second half, we were very sluggish. We barely got the ball down and played, if at all, and when you’re the Paris Saint-Germain manager, you want to see your team play for the whole game. That’s twice now where we’ve really lacked consistency."

On the title: "Of course, with every win, we get closer to the title, but nothing is certain yet. We’ll look at our direct competitors’ results, but obviously, every time that we win, given that we’re out in front by a certain number of points, we get closer to the title.”

MARQUINHOS

“The main thing was to win and to keep up our momentum. These are key, must-win games when you’re going for the title. We need to keep up this good form and this dynamic with positive results. That’s important when you’re going for the title. We’ll see how the other teams do tomorrow and on Sunday, and then, we’ll keep working to keep improving.

"I think that everyone wants to cause an upset against PSG. We know that it’s a big game for every team when they play against us, and we also have to realise that every game is a title decider. These are points that you look back at with regret if you let them slip, and even though Angers are struggling at the moment, we needed to come here to win and to play well in order to score goals. We managed to do that early in the first half, but we relaxed a bit too much in the second half and misplaced a lot of passes, which gave them chances on the counter. As for the goal towards the end, we need to be careful because otherwise we’ll have problems in other games.”
