Christophe Galtier: "We had to be very demanding and serious"

Christophe Galtier and Nordi Mukiele spoke to PSGTV about the Parisians' first win of the year at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday evening against Angers (2-0).

NORDI MUKIELE

"We had to continue like we did in the Coupe de France, but we knew it was important to win tonight because we had lost the last game against Lens. Today we made up for it, we won 2-0 and we didn't concede, which is also very important. Now it's up to us to continue on this path.

My assists? On the first one, I told Hugo before the game that he should stay in the middle, because we need a player in the middle for the crosses. I had the chance to put him in and he finished. And for the second one, for Leo, I know that he is a player who is technically very gifted, and I just had to play it and he finished, on his right foot, so I am very happy. That's how I feel, I feel much better now, but it's just the beginning, it's up to me to keep it going. It's not enough to play two or three good matches, we need a lot more. Helping the team is the most important thing, it will be up to me to forget this match, there is a very important match coming up on Sunday and we have to focus on that."

CHRISTOPHE GALTIER

"Yes, it was very important to get back to winning ways. We have rivals who are pushing hard. We knew that we were going to have a difficult match because Angers is a team that plays good football and poses big problems on a tactical level. I also insist on the fact that the situation - post-World Cup - means that we have had a lot of players absent, that the group was very scattered and that little by little everyone is coming back and reconnecting. My players had to be very demanding and serious and I congratulate them because if we hadn't been, we could have been beaten in that match.

We scored two magnificent goals and I just regret a few unusual technical errors in areas of the game where we usually make big differences. But I repeat once again, there was Neymar who couldn't play the last two games and who is coming back from the World Cup, and Leo's return. Congratulations to our fans for welcoming him back and cheering us on throughout the game. They had to find their bearings, their connection. On a technical level, it was well done. On the goals, we had a few little mistakes, but as we progress, we will rediscover the connection between each other to be even better."
